Flood Disaster in Shangla
Monsoon rains, which started in Khyber Pukhtoon Khwa on July 27, 2010, caused floods and damage in many areas of Shangla and Swat District. It was one of the most affected districts of havoc flood in terms of human casualties, agricultural loss, livestock loss, infrastructure and public assets , many communities inaccessible due to destroyed roads and collapsed bridges.
Installation of Water Hand Pump:
Sustainable Development Society (SDS) installed water hand pumps at the corner of the villages which is caused to reduce problems of the villager and provided facilitation of clean and drinkable water near to their home. Through these water hand pumps, more than 50 families could avail water and fulfill their basic needs of water.
